Casie has lived in the Lillooet area for the past 20 years, with the first 17 in the rural area of Gold Bridge. In 2008 Casie moved her family to Lillooet in order to pursue her Doula career and educational interests.
She began practicing Doula 3 years ago and now accompanies births at LDH and RIH, along with births in Vancouver at
Lions Gate Hospital. She is a member of DONA International and Lamaze and completed the Perinatal Support course through Douglas College in 2008. Casie is also a certified Infant Massage Teacher through the Liddlekidz Foundation.
Being the mother to 5 children which includes her step daughter and one child with special needs it is obvious that Casie loves being a mother and has had plenty of experience with child rearing. She appreciates the concept of women supporting women. From her own experiences of having supported and non-supported labours, she can truly see the benefits of professional labour support. It is with this knowledge that she pursued her passion as a professionally trained birth assistant.
Casie has studied both the medical model of care as well as the midwifery model of care and has respect for each of the theories. Her wish is to bring women living in rural area communites the same support that women living in city centres have. She brings an added asset to Doula as she came from a family of nuturing women.
Casie offers the following services:
~Infant Massage Instruction
~Pre/Post Natal Home Support
~Private Childbirth Education
~Baby Foot Casting Keepsakes
